Key global appointments at Precor and World Gym

Precor owner Peloton has announced the appointed Dustin Grosz as Chief Executive of Precor, while World Gym has named Brea Ballard as its new Vice President of Marketing.

The appointment of Grosz at Precor follows his having served as interim Chief Executive since 12th December last year.

With more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, Grosz previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer at Core Health & Fitness where he led the restructuring of the US$180 million business while, from 2011 to 2019, he also served in the same roles at Star Trac.

Prior to that Grosz was President and Chief Executive of StairMaster where he transformed an underperforming product line in the first year of management.

He has also held several positions at Nautilus Inc.

Commenting on the appointment, Dion Camp Sanders, Precor’s Chief Emerging Business Officer, to whom Grosz will report, stated “Dustin’s appointment as CEO marks an important milestone signalling the next chapter for Precor.

“He has a proven track record leading companies through transformational growth, and a deep knowledge of the fitness and wellness industry.

“As interim CEO, Dustin has already had a positive impact on the organisation bringing to bear his strong experience in global supply chain and distribution, manufacturing, and sourcing strategies.

“Dustin’s immediate focus will be to return Precor to a position where it generates positive free cash flow.”

Changes at Precor have also seen the appointment of Frank O’Rourke as Senior Vice President of Global Sales.

Based in the USA, O’Rourke will report directly to Grosz and will oversee Precor’s global sales and go-to-market strategy to transform and grow the company’s sales and distribution relationships across multiple geographies.

O’Rourke also brings more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry having held several senior leadership and sales management positions at Core Health & Fitness and Nautilus, Inc.

World Gym appoints new Vice President of Marketing 
World Gym has also announced the appointment of industry veteran Brea Ballard as Vice President of Marketing.

Ballard’s appointment sees her tasked with driving growth at World Gym through the creation and execution of impactful marketing initiatives. With her vast background in marketing and brand management, she will play a key role in shaping the future of World Gym and maintaining its reputation for delivering exceptional fitness experiences.

Looking forward to here role, Ballard advised “I’m excited to join such a global, iconic brand.

“While still nurturing the brand’s past, I plan to pave the way for its future as we continue to impact as many lives in the fitness space as possible.”

With 25 years working in both the fitness and franchise industries, Ballard spent 13 years in marketing leadership roles at national franchise concepts. She previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Row House, led marketing for a major ‘big-box fitness’ franchisor and helped launch several boutique fitness concepts.

Welcoming Ballard to the company, World Gym Chief Executive, Lewis Stanton stated “as the fitness industry is constantly evolving and adapting to the needs and wants of its customers, we’re thrilled to have Brea on board.

“Her fitness and franchise marketing experience will help us make an even more positive impact on the health and well-being of franchisees, staff and members across the globe."
