Former Richmond AFL player Joel Bowden named new Northern Territory Tourism Minister
A cabinet reshuffle by Northern Territory Chief Minister Natasha Fyles has seen former Richmond Tigers AFL player Joel Bowden named as the new Tourism Minister.
Bowden - who also adds infrastructure, jobs, skills and training to his roles - takes on the portfolio from former Minister Nicole Manison, who returns to the Agribusiness and Fisheries Ministry.
Among other changes, the first since Chief Minister Fyles took over from former Chief Minister Michael Gunner last year, she takes over the portfolio of Minister for Major Events from Paul Kirby, who returns to the back bench.
The two former ministers who will now take their place on the backbench are former environment and education minister Lauren Moss, and former small business minister Paul Kirby.
Kate Worden becomes the Northern Territory's new Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Water Security and Minister for Mental Health, while continues as Minister for Sport.
Minister Bowden was elected to the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly following a by-election in 2020, representing the Australian Labor Party (ALP).
He previously played professional football for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1996 to 2009.
