EVANZ invites 2024 Award entries and board nominations

Looking to celebrate the industry’s brightest and the best and reflect the theme: ‘Ka Mate Kainga Tahi, Ka Ora Kainga Rua. Out of Aversity Comes Creativity’, the Entertainment Venues Association New Zealand (EVANZ) has opened entries for seven key categories in its New Zealand Entertainment Venue Awards.

Set to be presented during its upcoming annual conference, entries are invited for the following awards:

• Ticketmaster Small Venue of the Year (under 1,000 seats)

• EVANZ Medium Venue of the Year (1,000 to 4,999 seats)

• Tomkins Wake Large Venue of the Year (over 5,000 seats)

• Momentus Technologies Rising Star

• VITEC Team Member of the Year

• VMA Team Leader of the Year

• Industry Supplier of the Year

Entries are to be submitted by Friday 27th September, with the Finalists announced on 21st October.

EVANZ Board Members
EVANZ is also inviting nominations for two new Board members to join its executive team.

The two positions have become vacant due to Mark Gosling (Spark Arena) and Chris Mintern (Eden Park) coming to the end of their terms this year.

With nominations open since 16th August, the election timeline is as follows:

• 30th September - Nominations close at 4pm

• 16th October - ‘Meet the Candidates’ Zoom Meeting

• 21st October - Voting papers distributed

• Friday 15th November - Voting closes

• Friday 22nd November - Results Announced

• Tuesday 3rd December - First Board Meeting at the Aotea Centre, Auckland.

All nominees should be aware that their term will be three (3) years, expiring at the EVANZ AGM in 2027.

EVANZ Events
The EVANZ End of Year Conference and Awards are being held at the Aotea Centre, Auckland from 3rd to 5th December.

Before then, EVANZ is joining with Venue Management Association to host a Professional Development Workshop at Christchurch’s Te Pae Convention Centre on Monday 23rd September.

The Workshop will be followed After Five event at Isaac Theatre Royal from 5.30pm to 7.30 pm.
