Canberra trampoline arena transform with Ninja Warrior style course

One of Canberra’s most popular children’s attractions is to reopen this month offering an expanded format that includes a ‘Ninja Warrior’- style course in addition to its longstanding trampoline features.

Formerly operating locations in the ACT suburbs of Hume and Mitchell, which closed 2019 and 2020, the former Canberra Flip Out franchisees have partnered with husband and wife team Nick and Christina Vasiliou to re-open Flip Out in an expanded format in one new location in Majura Park.

Nick Vasiliou, who has been in the attraction industry for more than 30 years, has operated Happy Days Amusements since the 1980s.

As reported by The Canberra Times, he wants to make the new Flip Out the biggest adventure park.

With the two previous Flip Out trampoline parks having been in industrial areas, the new facility, located next to Majura Park McDonald’s, aims to be more welcoming.

Vasiliou told The Canberra Times “Majura Park is a central location, and in my opinion has the best shopping precinct as it targets north and south Canberra with easy accessibility for all and it’s hard to miss as it gains lots of traction.”

The key attraction of the new facility will be a large Ninja Warrior course in its centre of the adventure park, with ninja classes available, as well as a sectioned-off area called ‘interactive assault’, a more technical Ninja Warrior course.

The facility will also feature a junior trampoline area, with a soft play area featuring mirror mazes and ropes courses, along with a climbing walls and giant Rubik cubes.

Trampolines will still be a part of Flip Out, while an apparatus called ‘the volcano’ will consist of a ramp where participants will get to run up and come down a slide.

An Olympic-sized main arena will include trampolines where people of all ages can jump in on the action.

AIming towards getting school groups in for excursions and offering activities targeted towards children with disabilities, Vasiliou noted “we are trying to tick all the boxes for every possible age group and have something to offer for.

“It’s an open spectrum, so we want to create something for everyone.

“Physical activity is extremely important, we want kids to come along and be active while having fun.”

For older users the adventure park will be introducing a new trampoline activity called Flip Fit, with Vasiliou adding “it will have instructors so that adults can come and do trampolining and strength building, with a trainer to get them in to do stretching and all sorts of physical activity.”

As well as all the interactive features of Flip Out, there will be a series of arcade games and party rooms available for hire along with an F&B outlet and relaxation area for parents and carers.

The 2000 metre² attraction is set to open in the coming weeks.
