Flip Out opens latest trampoline centre on Sydney's northern beaches
Flip Out, Australia's largest operator of trampoline arenas, has opened its latest facility at Brookvale on Sydney's northern beaches.
Sited in a light/general industrial building, the 1400 metre2 centre has two trampoline areas for younger and older jumpers, foam pits that allow falling with impunity and a number of party rooms.
The facility is also being marketed as an events venue, hosting children's parties by day and as an evening entertainment venue for adults.
Speaking at the time of the opening of Flip Out Brookvale, then Flip Out Marketing Manager Debbie Mitchell explained that the centre would fill a gap for children's activities and entertainment on the northern beaches for kids' entertainment.
She told local media "what else is there besides surfing and hanging out at the beach for kids?.
"There really is a massive need for it in the market, and there's a big gap there. They need something new and fun and that's healthy."
Mitchell added that Sydney-based company is also competing with nightclubs, offering a late-night, socialising alternative, with midnight closing times on weekends.
Activities at the arena also include discos and trampoline-skills classes.
With trampoline centres opening across Australia, as stand alone facilities and linked with other entertainment, recreation and sport products, industry operators are looking to establish a code of practice for trampoline centre operations.
The first public meeting to discuss this, and the potential establishment of an Australian Trampoline Parks Association, will be held as an industry breakout forum at the upcoming Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) annual conference being held at the Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast from 13th to 15th May.
Early bird discounts for the AALARA Conference are available until 1st April 2014.
