AUSTSWIM announces Bradley Low as new Chief Executive

AUSTSWIM Limited has today announced that Bradley Low has been appointed as its new Chief Executive to succeed Interim postholder Simon Weatherill.

Advising of the appointment, AUSTSWIM Chair, Melinda Crole stated “with over 15 years’ experience working in senior roles in sport, recreation and education Bradley is recognised for his ability to align strategic objectives with operational priorities to achieve organisational and sector outcomes.

“Throughout his career Bradley has demonstrated the ability to build strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders, lead successful teams, deliver tangible and positive outcomes, and encourage collaboration which is exactly what we were looking for in our next CEO”.

Low (pictured) is no stranger to AUSTSWIM having a long involvement with the organisation as a learn-to-swim teacher, AUSTSWIM Course Presenter, state committee chair and national council member.

Most recently, he has worked at Gymnastics Australia as General Manager, Member Services with responsibility for education, workforce development, participation, diversity and inclusion and club services among others.

While at Gymnastics Australia, Low had led significant strategic projects and initiatives in coach development, online delivery of education, club standards, sport governance, diversity and inclusion and data insights.

Prior to Gymnastics Australia, he worked within the vocational education sector as General Manager, Education for a group of registered training organisations where he led education development and delivery including the transition of the organisation to online education, expansion into new industries and student engagement and support strategies.

Crole added “Bradley is dedicated to the industry and committed to creating innovative programs and driving new student education and engagement strategies to maximise progression, satisfaction and outcomes for students.

“Bradley’s key strengths, his passion and his dedication are exactly what AUSTSWIM were looking for.”

Set to commence his role on 9th May, Low is looking forward to commencing with AUSTSWIM, saying “AUSTSWIM is an organisation that has a long and proud history of educating swimming teachers and advocating for the importance of swimming and water safety.

“As a former competitive swimmer and AUSTSWIM teacher, presenter and volunteer, I learnt from a young age about the history, culture and importance of the organisation and its work. I am proud to be a part of AUSTSWIM and lead the organisation as its next CEO.”

Crole went on to specifically thank Weatherill for having held the interim Chief Executive position and “steadying the ship” over the past 12 months, concluding “we are grateful that Simon, with his wealth of knowledge and experience will be available to support the transition of Bradley into the role.“
