AUSTSWIM launches search for new Chief Executive

AUSTSWIM, Australia's national not-for-profit organisation for the teaching of swimming and water safety, has commenced a search for “an authentic, innovative and dynamic” Chief Executive who can evolve the body to the next strategic development stage.

Advertised via the Australasian Leisure Management website, the job description for the post calls for someone who is “community-focused and committed to the AUSTSWIM vision of every Australasian being taught to swim by an accredited AUSTSWIM teacher”.

The job description advises that the new Chief Executive will report directly to the AUSTSWIM board and will have a proven track record of displaying collaborative leadership, emotional intelligence in fostering a strong company culture and being creative and innovative in delivering business outcomes, ensuring AUSTSWIM is the pre-eminent provider of swimming teacher training in Australia.

Key Criteria To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Employees and stakeholders will need to describe you as authentic, engaging, commercially savy, motivational and collaborative.

  • Strategic understanding of federal, state and local government's sectors needs for the prevention of drowning and water safety.

  • An ability to deploy technology, create innovative solutions and deliver high-quality services.

  • An understanding and demonstrated track record in developing an environment where leadership drives culture and culture drives performance.

  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders and developing collaborative partnerships.

  • Excellent public speaking skills and have experience in working across a broad stakeholder group.

With 42 years of dedicated experience, AUSTSWIM works closely with aquatic facilities, education and government departments, peak industry organisations and partners.
