The two organisations have this week have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together with an aim to shortly finalise details of the partnership.
Announcing the partnership, AUSTSWIM Chief Executive Carl Partridge stated “this is an important step forward for the education and training of existing and future Teachers of Swimming and Water Safety in New Zealand and will open up opportunities across the country for the swimming and water safety community.”
Partridge thanked the New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA) for their ongoing support in the delivery of courses on behalf of AUSTSWIM.
NZRA Chief Executive Andrew Leslie added “we have been proud to work with AUSTSWIM over recent years successfully delivering courses on their behalf.

Welcoming the initiative, Swimming New Zealand Chief Executive Steve Johns concluded “both Carl and I would like to thank everyone involved, including both boards and the wider New Zealand Swimming and Water Safety community, for their passionate and dedicated work in making this happen.
