Winners announced for 2020 National AUSTSWIM Awards of Excellence

Swimming and water safety teacher training body AUSTSWIM has announced the winners of its 2020 AUSTSWIM Awards of Excellence - the premier awards presented to individuals and organisations in Australia and New Zealand that achieve the highest standards of aquatic education excellence.

Explaining that the Awards recognise brilliance, commitment and innovation in the teaching of swimming and water safety, AUSTSWIM Chief Executive, Carl Partridge advised “the national awards are the pinnacle of recognition for swimming and water safety educators.

“With over 30,000 licensed teachers and over 600 AUSTSWIM recognised swim centres, AUSTSWIM services the community.”

Recognising the exceptional contribution that each recipient makes to the aquatic industry and the dedication and commitment to the wider community, the 2020 national award recipients are:

• 2020 National AUSTSWIM WETS Aqua Instructor - Kathryn Macdonald, Victoria
• 2020 National AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusions (Adults) - Randev Sappany, NSW
• 2020 National AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics - Melissa Holst, NSW
• 2020 National AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion - Katrina Scarpin, NSW
• 2020 National AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety - Peter Coleborne, NSW
• 2020 National AUSTSWIM Presenter of the Year - Bernie Wilson, Queensland
• 2020 National AUSTSWIM Recognised Swim Centre - Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre, NSW
• 2020 National Most Outstanding Contribution to AUSTSWIM - Gwen Welford, Queensland

The awards were presented by AUSTSWIM Ambassador Brooke Hanson OAM at the 2020 AUSTSWIM Awards of excellence Virtual Awards night last Thursday.
