Australasian active-net event cancelled

In a more likely to disappoint its many industry partners, the active-net networking event, scheduled to be held in Melbourne in July, has been cancelled.

Organised by UK-based Leisure-net Solutions, the event sought to replicate a successful formula from the UK, bringing together operators and suppliers for two days of high-level business-skills workshops and one-to-one meetings.

It also featured an education stream that was to have included consultants Tim Webster and Justin Tamsett.

Announcing that the event has been cancelled, Leisure-net Solutions Director Mike Hill stated that the decision to cancel the event “was a tough one to make but we just aren’t near the numbers we need to make it a worthwhile.”

Australasian fitness organisations including official partner, Fitness Australia, as well as Australian Fitness Network, UNIsport, Exercise New Zealand, the Australian Leisure Facilities Association (ALFA), Aquatics and Recreation Victoria and the Aquatics and Recreation Institute had all supported the event.
