Optus secures naming rights for new Perth Stadium
The Western Australian Government has announced that telecommunications company, Optus, has secured naming rights for the new Perth Stadium, as part of a 10-year agreement.
Set to open early next year, the new venue will now be known as Optus Stadium.
As part of partnership, Optus will become the official provider of telecommunications and internet services throughout the Stadium.
Commenting on the naming rights deal, Stadium Chief Executive Mike McKenna stated “we are delighted to have secured Optus as the naming rights partner for the Stadium for the next 10 years.
“As a technologically focussed venue, Optus is the perfect partner.
“We will work closely with the Optus team to create and deliver outstanding, leading-edge fan engagement experiences for every visitor to this world-class venue. A key focus will be the development and delivery of the Stadium App, providing fans with the latest information on all aspects of the Stadium including how to access and circulate the new venue.”
The Stadium design encompasses a range of world leading technology features including Wi-Fi connectivity, two of the largest stadia super screens in the southern hemisphere, 1,000 IPTV’s and the largest LED lighting system in the world.
A transitional period will be undertaken to rebrand the Stadium assets to Optus Stadium and external signage will be erected on the Stadium in time for the free Open Day on Sunday 21st January 2018.
On behalf of the Western Australia Government, stadium operator, VenuesLive was responsible for securing the 10-year Optus arrangement.
Earlier this week Bankwest was announced as the official banking services partner with further commercial partner announcements to be made in the near future.
