AUSactive seeks input in developing Pilates Industry Guidelines
AUSactive has advised of its action in elevating the credibility and professionalism of Pilates, joining forces with experts to craft a comprehensive set of Pilates Industry Guidelines.
With the Guidelines currently in a draft form, AUSactive is looking to gather input from the Pilates community including operators, professionals and suppliers, extending an invitation for anyone with an interest in Pilates to review the draft guideline and offer their insights.
AUSactive advise “this endeavour reflects our unwavering dedication to nurturing Pilates growth with authenticity and professionalism.”
“Together, let's sculpt the future of Pilates and uphold its standards to new heights.
“Your ongoing support and commitment are the driving forces behind our shared mission. Thank you for being a vital part of this journey.”
AUSactive extended its membership modalities to include yoga and Pilates in January 2022, shortly after its rebranding from Fitness Australia.
At the time, AUSactive Chief Executive Barrie Elvish explained that the evolution of the association’s membership categories was about extending its relevance and tailored support to more health and wellbeing professionals and businesses Australia-wide.
Elvish stated “as the leading industry association for the exercise and physical activity industry we have always advocated on behalf of and supported many different types of health and fitness businesses and industry professionals.
“However, our previous membership categories were limited and we realised a ‘one size fits all’ approach just wasn’t appropriate for the future focus of AUSactive or the industry as a whole.
“The new Yoga and Pilates membership categories have been specifically created to support businesses, instructors, teachers and students within the Yoga and Pilates fields.”
