Pilates specialist appointed to AUSactive Board
With expanded membership modalities now on offer, AUSactive has moved to strengthen its Board’s industry representation with the appointment of Pilates specialist Sally Anderson who has delivered Pilates specialist training and education for more than 30 years around the world.
Anderson founded and directed registered training organisation Pilates International studios for 19 years, specialising in government accredited Pilates education and professional industry development.
As Chief Executive of Pilates International she led compliance and course accreditation, and an articulation of the VET Pilates courses into Health Science degrees with University Canberra.
In 2020, Anderson founded Reach Movement Health to focus on providing prescriptive movement for health and wellness.
Advising that Anderson’s appointment was part of the association’s efforts to enhance the Pilates modality and breadth of specialist experience on the Board, AUSactive Chair, Jayne Blake commented “Sally has a considerable level of support from the Pilates community and as part of our continued efforts to improve the positioning of our Pilates modality the Board has endorsed her appointment as an External Director via a casual appointment.
“Her appointment also ensures we have appropriate diversification of Board skills and experience.”
Anderson’s Board experience includes being the founding President and President-Elect for 10 years of Pilates Alliance Australasia, Advocacy Board Member of Pilates Method Alliance USA and Chairperson of the recently established Registry of Accredited Pilates Professionals.
