Aligned Leisure commences reopening local and regional aquatic facilities

Following a two-month closure in response to the COVID-19 health alert, Aligned Leisure has advised they are beginning to reopen their aquatic facilities located in local and regional communities.

A subsidiary business of the Richmond Football Club, Aligned Leisure operates 26 sport and leisure facilities across Victoria and New South Wales, with a strong focus on connecting with local communities to drive important health and wellbeing plans.

These reopenings see the return of lap lane swimming and warm water gentle exercise at all locations, providing a valuable opportunity for community members to once again exercise, and support their physical and mental health.

The health and safety of customers, the community, and staff has remained a priority at all locations, with new safety measures introduced to support the safe reopening of these facilities. This has included compulsory COVID-19 safety training for all staff, new social distancing markers and signage, hygiene and disinfection stations installed in key areas, and the introduction of contactless transactions.

Cleaning and hygiene have also remained a continued focus, with staff regularly cleaning and disinfecting each facility throughout the day, in addition to nightly deep cleaning schedules.

Acting Aligned Leisure Chief Executive, Simon Bryson advises “this week was met with a lot of excitement as we welcomed back many wonderful customers and staff who make these facilities the quality community assets that they are.

“We understand how valuable these facilities are to the many communities in which we operate, and we’re grateful that we are now in a position to safely reopen.

“The health and safety of our people, both customers and staff, remain our number one focus. Our team is closely monitoring government advice, conducting market research, and surveying our customers to ensure every possible safety measure has been considered in line with this commitment.

“We’d like to thank our local Council partners and the broader community for their continued support during this time, and look forward to connecting with everyone again very soon.”
