Leadership changes at Aligned Leisure

Aligned Leisure has announced the appointment of Shane Dunne as it new Chief Executive, filling the role created by the departure of former postholder Cain Liddle who has become the new Chief Executive at the Carlton Football Club.

Liddle has spent the past seven years running Richmond’s consumer arm where he drove membership to record levels. He also established the Club’s subsidiary health and recreation business, Aligned Leisure.

Announcing the change, Richmond Chief Executive and Aligned Leisure Director Brendon Gale stated “Cain has made an outstanding contribution to our Club and we congratulate him on his appointment,” Richmond CEO and Aligned Leisure Director Brendon Gale said.

“Cain has aspired to move into a football club CEO role and it is a great credit to him that he has been recognised for his business acumen, innovation and leadership.

“Importantly, succession planning is always at the forefront of our mind and that has allowed us to now immediately appoint Shane Dunne as Chief Executive Officer of Aligned Leisure”.

With 17 years’ senior leadership experience in the aquatic and leisure industry, Dunne has been with Aligned Leisure since its inception and has led all operations throughout that time.

Welcoming his new role, Dunne (pictured) stated “it is an exciting period for Aligned Leisure and the broader aquatic and leisure industry.

“We are thrilled to have delivered completely tailored and innovative solutions for our partners over the last 17 months. By putting the customer at the heart of our decision making, we have seen participation growth across the board.

“I look forward to leading Aligned Leisure through the next phase of our strategic plan, supported by a highly experienced and talented team of leisure managers”.

Aligned Leisure have also recently appointed two other members to its leadership team.

Sec Maljanek has joined as General Manager - Human Resources and Hayley Lacy is Finance Manager.

Aligned Leisure is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Richmond Football Club.
