New Cardinia Leisure Manager appointed
Experienced and highly regarded facility manager Simon Bryson has been appointed as Cardinia Leisure Manager.
Bryson replaces Transition Manager Shane Dunne, who will continue his involvement with Aligned Leisure, as General Manager - Operations.
Dunne will also resume his work at the Richmond Football Club in a new role as Business Development Manager.
Since commencing management of the Cardinia Shire Council’s major recreation facilities on 1st July, Aligned Leisure has seen an 18% increase in memberships, 3% increase in swim school attendance and registration for sports teams at an all-time high – up by 5%.
Bryson has worked in the facility’s fitness and programs space for the past four months.
Prior to joining Aligned Leisure, Bryson spent three years as part of the start-up team at the Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre and Wyndham’s Western Leisure Services.
Bryson has built a reputation for building staff culture, establishing strong relationships, improving the financial and operational performances of facilities, which are all reflective in his consistent record for delivering superior results over 10 years across multiple centres.
He brings an impressive resume to his new role and through this work, he has become an industry leader in the planning and implementation of leisure centre operations, during the establishment, pre-opening and operational phases.
Bryson has an in-depth background in the operational requirements (health and fitness, operations, aquatics and sports) of leisure centres.
These requirements include business planning, facility establishment and management, budgeting and reporting, human resources, occupational health and safety, risk management, sales and marketing, program development and customer engagement.
Commenting on his role, Bryson explains “this role provides an exciting new challenge for me.
“I will be responsible for the day to day operations of our eight facilities within the Shire of Cardinia, and delivering exceptional value to our members and guests.”
“We have a great team of staff and I am looking forward to seeing Cardinia Leisure continue to grow under my management.”
