Adventure World to farewell Rampage ride after almost a million rides
As the summer season draws to a close and after more than two decades in action, Rampage, one of the cornerstone rides at Perth theme park Adventure World, will be taking its final ride on Tuesday 25th April.
Across its 22-years of operations, Rampage has thrilled just short of one million riders since 2001, with more than 600 lunches lost to the ‘adrenalin-generator’ over the years.
Towering in at 13.5 metres high, the $1.8 million (equivalent to $3.2 million in 2023) Rampage was the biggest thrill ride to ever hit Western Australia when it opened in the summer of 2001, and since then has been a favourite of park-goers, theme-park enthusiasts, and the wider community.
Explaining that there’s been plenty of fond, fun, and sometimes frightening memories made with Rampage as the backdrop during its 22-year reign of the park, Adventure World Chief Executive, Andrew Sharry advised “we’ve been lucky enough to experience more than two decades of exhilarating memories with Rampage at the fore.
“We’ve got park lovers who’ve been back season after season to ride Rampage, so we know it’s been responsible for plenty of fun not only for the people of Western Australia, but for those who have travelled far and wide to experience it.”
Best described as a high thrill ride that delivers a rider experience on the aggressive side with its various speeds and two offset arms, for anyone who hasn’t experienced the power of the
Rampage yet, there is now only a matter of days left.
Sharry noted “retiring a ride is not something that happens every day, and although we’ll miss the thrills that Rampage delivers, the timing is right. After so many years in action, we’ll be saying goodbye, but also making room for Adventure World to evolve and welcome new, exciting rides in the years to come.”.
Spanning at least two generations of thrill seekers who for many, Rampage would’ve been their first experience of a theme park thrill ride, Adventure World know there’ll be plenty of people gearing up for one last ride.
Sharry added “we want to encourage anyone who loves Rampage, anyone who has never tried it, but always thought about it, or anyone who has maybe been patiently waiting to hit the height requirements to head on down for these last few weeks for one last ride.”
Rampage will be officially ‘switched-off’ after its final rides on Tuesday 25th April.
