New Velocity Falls attraction drives positive peak season for Jamberoo Action Park
Approaching the end of its 2022/23 season, Jamberoo Action Park has enjoyed a positive summer of operations, boosted by the opening of its new Velocity Falls waterslide at the end of September, driving an upward trajectory of in-park spending.
Advising that the new ride has been well-received, Jamberoo Action Park General Manager, Matt George explained “Velocity Falls has been a great and dynamic addition delivering an exceptional experience for our guests.”
With the addition of premium cabanas, equipped with refrigerators, the ride has helped deliver one of the most positive visitation figures at the NSW attraction in the last decade, outstripping performance in the peak seasons in the years immediately prior to the pandemic.
George explains “the cabanas, along with food and beverage and souvenir sales have driven our overall and per capita spending to its highest ever level.”
George also welcomed the return of school visits to the water theme park in the run-up to end of term 4 of last year and guests having the confidence to again purchase season passes.
Since the start of the first school term of 2023, the Illawarra attraction has been open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and, while currently open for the Easter school holidays, it will soon close for the winter season.
Jamberoo Action Park’s first new ride since 2016, the construction of Velocity Falls was delayed by weather events, pandemic related supply issues and construction worker shortages.
Open through the 2022/23 season it has proven to be a significant addition for the water theme park.
