VMA office welcomes Steve Romer

Respected venue management professional and former Venue Management Association [Asia and Pacific] (VMA) President Steve Romer has been engaged as the Association's interim Chief Executive following the departure of General Manager Karen Windram late last year.

VMA President Brian Morris announced that Romer has been engaged on a short-term basis to oversee the business and operations of the VMA, including the recruitment of a new Chief Executive.

Commencing in the role this week, Romer praised the VMA office staff for providing a high level of membership services over the past two months.

Commenting on his appointment, Romer stated "as immediate Past President I'm delighted to be back in familiar waters as I assist the VMA in moving forward."

Morris welcomed the appointment, concluding "it's business as usual for the VMA as we head into a very exciting year. I look forward to Steve's contribution and am confident he can hit the ground running due to his experience and knowledge of the Association."

Steve Romer is pictured with veteran rocker Alice Cooper during his time as General Manager of the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
