Ungerboeck a double winner at Meetings and Events Australia annual awards

Ungerboeck Software International has enjoyed significant recognition for its work in the events sector, taking out two awards at the Meetings and Events Australia national awards.

Presented last night (8th May 2018) at the conclusion of the MEA National Conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre, among 35 awards presented Ungerboeck was named a winner in the Event Technology and Innovation categories.

Among other awards presented, Alec Gilbert received the Outstanding Contribution Award wapresented in recognition of his contribution to the events industry both in Australia and overseas while the Sydney Olympic Park Authority Business Events was recognised for outstanding performance taking out the Metropolitan Destination Marketing Organisation.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority Senior Manager Business Events, Danielle Hoare, said the win is humbling and a testament of the unique facilities and programs offered at Sydney Olympic Park.

Hoare stated “with more than 100 function spaces across 11 venues in one destination, Sydney Olympic Park is well-equipped to cater to virtually any type of corporate event.

“The Business Events team works closely with all 11 venues to collectively market the Sydney Olympic Park precinct as a world-class destination and the strength of collaboration with partners is key to our success.

“During the past 12-months, the team’s marketing initiatives have included the launch of the Sydney Olympic Park brand refresh, launch of a new website and a new innovative strategy that has seen a shift towards more digital campaigns.

"These significant efforts have led us to secure some incredible events including the upcoming Invictus Games that will be held at almost all of the venues at Sydney Olympic Park.”

Sydney Olympic Park facilitates almost 6,000 events annually, nearly half of which are business events.

The MEA Industry Awards are renowned for recognising best management practice and outstanding performance in the Australian meetings and events industry.
