Stars align for Outback Astronomy venture
Outback Astronomy is an innovative small business that’s taking advantage of Broken Hill’s stunning starscapes by offering personalised tours of the night sky, providing intriguing facts and showcasing dazzling sky objects.
The innovation of the business' owner Linda Nadge has been recognised by a NSW Government Minister and the Lonely Planet travel guides.
Acknowledging the success of the business, NSW Minister for Regional Development, Skills and Small Business John Barilaro explained recently “Linda Nadge is fully engrained in all things Broken Hill, having lived and worked in the town for 18 years before setting her sights on her new small business endeavour.
“Combining a passion for star gazing, a desire to remain in Broken Hill and excited by the prospect of attracting more people to this incredible part of NSW, her tourism business seemed like the next logical next step.
“In just 12 months of operation, Outback Astronomy has become one of regional NSW’s most captivating tourism experiences, even featuring in the Lonely Planet."
Minister Barilaro added that Outback Astronomy is a great example of how the natural beauty of regional NSW can create a stunning canvas for a successful business that is really contributing to the area.
