A longstanding Queenstown local with a penchant for outdoor adventure has been appointed new General Manager at Ziptrek Ecotours Queenstown.
Stuart Cordelle, will 'zip' into this newly created position on 22nd March, bringing to the role more than 20 years experience in the tourism sector.
Trent Yeo, Director and owner of Ziptrek Ecotours Queenstown, says the adventure operation has grown exponentially since opening in December 2009 and needed a focused and experienced individual to build on the early success of the business, stating "we're delighted to welcome Stu to our team. In his new role, Cordelle will be responsible for developing and supporting Ziptrek's established leadership team across all departments. Working closely with Ziptrek Ecotours' global team he will shape and execute business strategy specific to the Queenstown operation.
Cordelle describes himself as an avid adventure junkie and says he's excited to be part of the Ziptrek operation, stating "this is a great opportunity for me to join a growing, modern and sustainable adventure company. Ziptrek is a future focused operation that has amazing potential. It provides not only a superb experience for visitors but also a business model that capitalizes on the desire and need to address sustainability issues."
While Yeo will remain the face of Ziptrek Queenstown, he's very happy to hand over the day-to-day operations. As he explains "there are a number of projects in the planning and I'm keen to begin that development process."
Cordelle's career path covers time with several well known companies including Travelex NZ Limited, Real Journeys, Mitre Peak Cruises and most recently, the position of Sales Manager at Millbrook Resort.
