Advising that both Torrens University and IHA recognise the importance of education, and personal and professional skill development for those connected to the sport, Darryn Melrose, the Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Industry Partnerships at Torrens University, explained “education is a potent tool for personal growth and career advancement, and we are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring Ice Hockey Australia members have access to a quality education, with flexible learning options, that empower ice hockey athletes and enthusiasts to pursue education without compromising their unwavering commitment to the sport.
"We are absolutely delighted to team up with Ice Hockey Australia to support their members, staff, and volunteers on their educational and professional journeys.”
As part of the exchange, IHA will grant Torrens University students access to invaluable industry placements. This immersive experience equips students with the hands-on skills essential for their future careers, fortifying their employability within the industry.
Stating that IHA will collaborate closely with Torrens University students on various industry projects, providing them with practical, real-world experience in day-to-day work-based initiatives, including working in teams, IHA General Manager, Adam Woolnough added “we value our IHA Members highly, and by providing opportunities for tertiary education support, we can assist with their own personal and professional development on and off the ice. We also look forward to helping students from Torrens University achieve their career goals too.
“This is a milestone collaboration with Australia’s fastest-growing university, and we thank Torrens University for their commitment and vision to partner with IHA as we grow as a sport.”
