Timezone New Zealand encouraging Pokémon Go fans to pose
Family entertainment centre operator Timezone New Zealand has been engaging with the Pokémon Go phenomena by encouraging patrons to pose with characters that they find in-store.
Gary Walker, Managing Director of Coin Cascade, franchise holder for Timezone in New Zealand, explains “people are really enjoy this Pokémon Go game and we like seeing people have fun - so we gave them the opportunity to win at our stores, while playing Pokémon Go.”
Customers were asked that when they found a Pokémon Go character in-store, to pose them somewhere interesting and take a screen shot to post on Timezone’s Facebook page.
Players that did this went into a draw, run over three weeks, to win a $40 Timezone Powercard.
Timezone staff said it was a good bit of fun for their customers and while initially some were a bit coy about confessing to being Pokémon Go fans, once they realised they could win, they were more than happy to ‘come out’ and get into the fun of the promotion.
