Dreamworld launches Pokémon Go night walks

With a growing number of attractions looking to be part of the Pokémon Go craze, Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld is helping fans fill their Pokédex by holding exclusive after-dark tours of the park over three nights.

Strictly limited to 60 people per night, Dreamworld’s Pokémon Go Night Walks incorporate a guided tour of the park’s main Pokémon Go lures and hot spots.

Dreamworld currently has 28 Pokéstops and three gyms with extra lures provided by the park on tour nights.

Dreamworld Chief Executive Craig Davidson said the new tours would extend Dreamworld’s virtual Pokémon Go experience which was already sending park guests ‘swipe crazy’ during the day.

Davidson stated “Dreamworld is a fun and safe environment to chase Pokémon so the tours will be a great option for families.

“Our digital team noticed different and sometimes rare types of Pokémon appear at night time so we’re expecting the tours to sell quickly.”

Davidson said the park would put more dates on sale if the tours proved popular.

Dreamworld is now also selling plush Pokémon Go toys in park.

Dreamworld’s Pokémon GO Night Walks will be held at the park from 6pm to 9pm on Friday 22nd July, Thursday 28th July and Friday 29th July.
