Thailand convention executive stresses its 'business as usual' for tourism
In the face of political unrest in Bangkok, Thai Convention & Exhibition Bureau President Khun Natuut Amomwat made a special appearance at the opening media conference of Incentive Travel and Conventions, Meetings Asia and Corporate Travel World in Bangkok this week to say it was "business as usual" as most of the trouble was well away from the venue.
Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, Singapore, the event organiser, went on to add that a crisis management centre had been set up to keep everyone up to date on the situation in the Thai capital, stating that "we will take any steps necessary to protect delegates if there is a need to."
The Incentive Travel and Conventions, Meetings Asia and Corporate Travel World event statistics featured 26 international speakers from 10 countries and attracted 1,600 pre-registered delegates and 360 buyers and corporate travel managers from 40 countries.
