SWIMCON22 prepares to deliver for aquatic professionals

Leading aquatic training organisation SWIM Coaches and Teachers Australia is ready to present its annual swim conference SWIMCON22 this weekend at Sea World on the Gold Coast.

SWIMCON22 UNLEASHED! Gold Coast is ready to deliver a diverse mix of inspirational keynote speakers, engaging masterclasses, swim course practical workshops along with streams for coaching, teaching and swim schools and additional activities, such as the Swim Australia Swim School Tour.

Kicking off with SWIM Australia teaching and coaching courses on Saturday 17th September, followed by three days of conference streams from Sunday, the conference is seen as the swimming event of the year, with some courses sold out and conference registrations almost at capacity.

It will also feature the Annual Awards function at the Dolphinarium at Sea World where SWIM Coaches & Teachers Australia (SCTA) will celebrate the successes and achievements of coaches, teachers and swim schools over the past year.

Excited at the number of people who have registered, SCTA Chief Executive, Brendon Ward advised “there is a real buzz in the air. This is the first time in three-and-a-half years that our community has come together in person. With our last two conferences being held in a virtual format due to COVID.

“People are excited! With less than two days to go, we are still receiving multiple registrations daily. Sea World accommodation is sold out! We have amazing presentations planned, complete with Olympic coaches who will be conducting practical demonstrations at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, and big-name speakers like Laurie Lawrence and Peta Searle, formally of St Kilda Football Club.”

Commencing on Sunday morning, three conference streams will focusing on Coaching, the Business of Learn to Swim for Swim School Owners and Managers, and The Art of Learn to Swim for Swim Teachers.

Speaking about the wider SWIMCON22 program, Ward added “it’s not all conference streams and learning though.

“We are also celebrating in style at our Annual Awards function at the Dolphinarium at Sea World where we will celebrate the successes and achievements of coaches, teachers and swim schools over the past year. This will be followed by a tropical themed celebration.

“Our comprehensive program also includes a Swim School tour, an exclusive on-site visit to Laurie Lawrence’s swim school to check out the progress of his talent kids who are aiming for 2032 and a private tour of Shark Bay for our conference delegates.”

Tickets are still available online for SWIMCON22 as well as at the door at Sea World Resort.
