Rainbow Club partners with Rackley Swimming to benefit young people living with disabilities

Rackley Swimming, one of the largest providers of swimming lessons in southeast Queensland has partnered with Rainbow Club Australia, a network of social swimming clubs for children with a disability, that will allow young people living with disabilities in Queensland greater access to aquatic activities in their local community.

While Rainbow Club is already well established in New South Wales with over 1500 members, this partnership will facilitate Rainbow Club access to Rackley Swimming Centres across southeast Queensland giving young people with disabilities access to social swimming lessons in a fun and safe environment.

Rainbow Club’s mission is “to provide a network of social swimming clubs for children with a disability, enabling them to learn, achieve and enjoy participating in aquatic activities.” This aligns with Rackley Swimming which is also passionate about teaching families important swimming and water safety skills so they can enjoy a lifelong love of the water.

Catriona Barry, General Manager of Rainbow Club advised “we could not ask for a better partner in Queensland, we have similar values, and we both want to provide children with a disability the opportunity to be safe in the water. By working collaboratively, we will be able to achieve this.”

Cameron Speechley, Director of Swim School at Rackley Swimming added “we are very excited to be partnering with Rainbow Club as they launch into Queensland.

“Our aim is to better serve our communities by ensuring that all children, no matter their ability, have the access to swimming lessons with expertly trained teachers in an environment that suits their individual needs. This partnership is a great step toward achieving that goal.”

Both organisations are looking forward to working closely and collaboratively with the first Rainbow Clubs to commence at Acacia Ridge Leisure Centre and North Lakes Aquatic Centre this term.

Registration is now open for membership at Acacia Ridge Rainbow Club or North Lakes Rainbow Club.
