Entire JUMP! Swim Schools network to participate in Learn2Swim Week 2022

The entire JUMP! Swim Schools network is participating in the 2022 Poolwerx Learn2Swim Week, from 23rd September to 1st October.

All 51 sites across Australia will take part, spotlighting water safety and the importance of starting or returning to swimming lessons, especially for children under five years of age.

JUMP! Swim Schools Chief Executive Mark Collins said it is critical to remind parents and carers how important it is that children have basic water safety skills.

Collins notes “drowning is still the number one cause of accidental death in children under five. Tragically, we saw a 108% increase last year and a 9% increase on the 10-year average, with 8% of these incidents happening in swimming pools.

“We know that having basic skills can save lives and when children start young, they can be quite confident swimmers by the age of two or three. As a community, we have the power to turn these statistics around.

“We look forward to joining forces with Poolwerx, Kids Alive and event ambassadors Libby Trickett and Laurie Lawrence to spread the word during this year’s Learn2Swim Week.”

As part of the week, JUMP! Swim Schools will offer special vouchers that allow parents to access a free-swimming lesson. Lessons during that week will also focus on important water safety skills alongside swimming skills.
