JUMP! Swim Schools spotlight expansion of franchise sites
A significant demand for swim school placements is seeing an expansion of JUMP! Swim Schools franchises across Australia.
Marsden Park (NSW) opened in February and Armstrong Creek (VIC) will open in June. Following that will be a number of openings at Victorian locations including Truganina, Werribee, Tarneit, Doncaster East, Mickleham and Lilydale with a further 24 sites expected to open across Australian in the coming 12 months.
JUMP! Swim School Chief Executive Mark Collins said it wasn’t just the number of sites that was impressive, but also the local response and instantaneous waitlists at new sites.
Collins notes “at Armstrong Creek, for example, two mums have recently joined forces to open a new JUMP! Swim School after being unable to secure their children a spot at an existing facility in or near their hometown of Torquay.
“Over 1,100 local parents have already registered their interest before the site has opened its doors. Their capacity is around 750 students. This interest has primarily been generated by social media posts and word of mouth, which is phenomenal.
“We’re seeing the same pattern repeat itself as new sites prepare to open - the response from local parents is overwhelming every time.”
JUMP! Swim Schools are preparing for a winter safety campaign in conjunction with Royal Life Saving Australia to ensure children return to swimming lessons and don’t stop attending through winter.
According to Royal life Saving Society - Australia, almost half of the children leaving primary school can’t swim continuously for 50 metres or float for two minutes in deep water – a basic national swimming and water safety benchmark – and lockdowns have contributed further to the issue.
Collins added “Winter this year is particularly important as it will make or break many children’s swim skills. The past two years have been challenging; thousands of pools closed their doors, millions of kids’ swimming lessons have been missed and some children may never return.
“If kids delay their return to swimming until after winter or pause for the winter months, it threatens to have tragic consequences across the coming summer and beyond. Summer swimmers are made in winter.”
Enrolments for JUMP! nationally are at their highest levels with almost 27,000 swimmers enjoying lessons weekly.
