Poolwerx Chairman inducted into Franchise Council of Australia Hall of Fame
Poolwerx Chairman Rod Young has been honoured at the recent MYOB Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) Excellence in Franchising Awards, being inducted into the FCA’s Franchise Hall of Fame.
With over 30 years’ experience in the franchising industry, Young is considered one of the worlds' foremost franchising consultants and has been Chairman at Poolwerx since 2014.
Poolwerx Founder and Chief Executive John O’Brien said Young was instrumental in the successful expansion of the company into the US pool market in early 2015.
O’Brien explained “(Rod’s) domestic and international expertise establishing strong and successful franchise and channel strategies has been critical in helping Poolwerx achieve our goals of domestic and international expansion.
“In particular, we had some ambitious goals prior to entering the US market and Mr Young’s expertise and guidance have been a key factor in our success there.”
Since entering the US market in 2015, Poolwerx has established 24 stores and 115 service vehicles in six US states and O’Brien said the company was on track to achieve their goal of opening 300 locations by 2021.
He concluded “(Rod) brought his depth of experience within the global marketplace to the Poolwerx Board at a critical time in our expansion.
“I congratulate him on this honour and look forward to working with him for many years to come.”
