Swim Coaches and Teachers New Zealand awards member excellence
Swim Coaches and Teachers New Zealand has recognised the outstanding achievements of its high performing members at its recent Annual Conference and Awards, the first face to face conference it has held since 2019.
Swim School and Teaching Awards included the Master Teacher award recognising a swim teacher who has created a legacy of importance to the teaching of learn to swim and water safety, and Outstanding Swim School recognising outstanding achievements and contribution to achieve excellence in swim school operations.
Coaching awards were determined by the results/points at National events, Provincial Awards are allocated to all clubs who do not have a university or polytechnic in their region and Senior Coaching Awards are determined by international results.
The award winners are:
Swim Teacher of the Year Award: Rachael Sardelich
Master Teacher (Nan Nevin Award): Nicky Adams

Coach of the Year:
Gary Hollywood - Lewis Clareburt for his 400m IM at the 2020 Olympic Games
Para Coach of the Year:
Roly Crichton - Dame Sophie Pascoe for her 100mFreestyle and 200m IM at the 2020 Olympics Games.
Para Youth Coach of the Year Award:
Carl Gordon - Gaby Smith 100m Breaststroke at the World Championships
Pic Parkhouse Youth Coach of the Year Award:
Kurt Crosland & Lars Humer - Erika Fairweather 400mFreestyle (929 FINA Points) at the 2020 Olympic Games.
Open Water Swim Coach of the Year Award:
Kurt Crosland & Lars Humer - Ruby Health 1st place in both the 5k and 10k National Championships.
Brett Naylor Trophy (highest FINA Points at in an international performance)
Gary Hollywood - Lewis Clareburt 400m IM (933 FINA Points) at the 2020 Olympic Games
