RASF scholarship recipients supported by Quayclean
Quayclean Australia and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation have announced Shannon Best from Grenfell and Maddison Tebbett from Medlow Bath as two of the 66 recipients of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation (RAS) 2021 Rural Scholarship and VET Scholarship programs.
Supporting students from a variety of industries, the scholarships provide financial assistance for regional and rural students studying at a recognised NSW University or TAFE who have a desire to give back to regional NSW.
Quayclean – a leading venue services company - is proud to support the RASF scholarship program and is delighted to be contributing $6,000 each to Best and Tebbett to assist with their full-time studies.
Best is a second-year Bachelor of Nursing student at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. She grew up on a family farm outside of Grenfell and has a strong awareness of the crucial role nurses play in facilitating important healthcare services for regional communities.
Tebbett is studying Certificate III in Agricultural Production and wants to broaden her knowledge of agriculture and establish a career within the industry. Learning livestock husbandry, crop and pasture production, farm skills and safe working practices will ensure Tebbett is a valuable employee in a broad range of on-farm or agribusiness roles.
RASF Manager, Cecilia Logan, said the program provides financial support for students in regional areas or those looking to work in a rural community and noted “The RASF Rural Scholarship and VET Scholarship programs are vital in assisting students from regional NSW pursue their dream careers.
“For most regional students, further study requires them to relocate and move away from their families. These scholarships are designed to help make that move or decision a little easier with funding to assist with accommodation, textbooks or income which allows them to focus on their studies.
“Our scholars come from every walk of life, but the one thing they have in common is a passion to give back to regional communities.”
Quayclean Chief Executive, Mark Piwkowski, congratulated Best and Tebbett on their scholarships adding “through our work at the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show, we have witnessed first-hand the wonderful contribution regional men and women make to NSW and Australia.
“We are honoured to partner with the RASF to assist Shannon and Maddison with their tertiary education studies and allow them the opportunity to contribute towards building strong, vibrant and resilient regional communities.”
