Queensland health officials praise Quayclean team for Gabba Test

Quayclean Australia Chief Executive, Mark Piwkowski has advised of the excellent feedback his business has received from venue managers and health officials after its work at three of the venues used during the recent Border-Gavaskar cricket Test series between Australia and India.

Quayclean was responsible for managing cleaning, waste management and presentation services at three of the four Test match venues: the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Gabba.

Despite Queensland Government crowd limiting restrictions at all three venues, a total of 138,531 patrons attended the Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane Test matches.

Highlighting that his staff delivered exceptional results in keeping players, officials and spectators COVIDSafe during each of the Tests, Piwkowski noted “I am thrilled with the praiseworthy comments, both in writing and face-to-face, that I have received about how our staff managed the Test cricket venues.

“These comments come on the back of the great results our staff achieved at venues during last year’s AFL and NRL seasons.

“Our staff carried a heavy responsibility throughout the Test series to ensure all three venues were hygienic and surfaces were free of COVID-19.”

Noting that senior Queensland health officials described the work performed at the Gabba Test as “brilliant”, Piwkowski added “it is very gratifying to hear such comments. Health officials worked closely with our team and said each worker treated the Gabba like their second home and that they approached their work with a sense of pride.

“They also said staff viewed COVID safety as a priority and were motivated to deliver a COVID safe event.”

At each of the Test matches, Quayclean staff conducted regular touchpoint cleaning of all surfaces such as handrails, door handles, light switches and lift buttons.

Staff also performed deep cleaning of toilets, seating bowl and concourse areas after each day of play.
