Perth’s Outback Splash at The Maze to open new waterslide tower for summer

Outback Splash at The Maze, the family fun park located on the edge of Western Australia’s Swan Valley, has announced its latest development, with a 17.5 metre high waterslide tower to open for the upcoming summer.

Being engineered to the highest safety standards, the tower will feature four waterslide experiences: two thrilling new raft slides and two adrenalin pumping speed slides.

Among them is The Wall, a two-person raft slide punctuated by a heart-racing drop; Blackout, raft ride made up of twists, turns, spectacular lights and a big drop; Gold Rush a translucent speed slide with epic twists and turns; and The Wedgie a slide where riders travel at speeds up to 75 kilometres/hour.

This announcement brings Outback Splash another step closer to its long term vision of being Perth’s favourite waterpark destination and a must visitt attraction for all ages.

To be known as Perth’s Outback Splash, the water park is being built in a number of stages on 4 hectares of land in Bullsbrook, currently known as The Maze.

Director of Outback Splash at The Maze, Paul Woodcock explains “since my family became owners of The Maze in 2006, we have been hard at work to constantly enhance the guest experience, pioneer best practice in safety and increase visitation to the region.

“The first water attraction on the site was completed in 2014, with the introduction of a three-storey high waterslide playground with two tube slides, two flume slides, toddler’s slides, a tipping bucket and a range of water cannons and interactive play features.

“The second stage was completed in 2017 with the opening of the Octopus Bay kids splash zone, designed especially for toddlers. The new waterslides opening in Summer 2019, have been designed particularly for teenagers and adults.

“We are passionate about our local community and are committed to our long term vision for Perth’s Outback Splash.”

Welcoming the development, Tourism Council WA Chief Executive, Evan Hall advised “the team at Outback Splash have worked tirelessly over the last 8 years so that Perth residents, along with intrastate and international visitors can enjoy world-class water attractions in the Swan Valley.

“Recognised as a finalist in the 2018 Tourism Awards, their dedication to providing quality Guest experiences and promoting tourism will no doubt culminate in a very successful 2019 summer season with the introduction of what looks to be one of WA’s best waterslide attractions.”

The waterslide tower is being built by Polin Waterparks and Swimplex Aquatics.

The family fun park is open all year round, featuring a variety of both wet and dry attractions. Visitors can enjoy unlimited play, all day, for one single entry price. The dry attractions include: six challenging mazes, a giant jumping pillow, a nature playground, nine hole mini golf, outdoor games and Australian native animals.

The completion of the NorthLink dual carriageway in 2019 will make Outback Splash just over 30 minute drive from the Perth CBD.
