New Indian waterpark features a dozen Polin slides
The newly opened Amaazia waterpark in the Indian city of Surat features a dozen waterslides from Polin Waterparks, including the signature King Cobra waterslide.
The multi-million-dollar development by the Rajgreen Group will eventually cover a 6.5 hectares site in the fast growing north west Indian city and, when complete, will offer a large family entertainment centre, indoor amusement park, bird park, snow park, shopping mall and cinema as well as hospitality, conference and events facilities.
Opened just before Christmas, the waterpark, the first phase of the development features a variety of extreme and family waterslides, combination slides, a children's water play structure and a wave pool.
Polin’s signature King Cobra waterslide is at the centre of the brightly coloured waterpark, which is themed like a rainforest and filled with a wide variety of animal replicas, including lions, elephants, koala bears, polar bears and water buffalo.
The waterpark can accommodate up to 3,000 visitors daily and, along with the King Cobra, also offers the largest wave pool in the region.
On the ground development is being managed by international thematic entertainment design and construction corporation the Sanderson Group - first set up in Australia but now headquarted in Malaysia. The firm is recognised for successfully delivering projects for entertainment giants such as Disney, Universal Studios, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Sea World, Ripley's, Chimelong, Meraas, Village Roadshow and Fox Studios.
