Sanderson Group designs Indian theme park

The Gold Coast founded Sanderson Group is currently designing an amusement park and waterpark for a location in the western Indian city of Surat.

Set to open in May 2016, the new attraction will feature 22 rides in the waterpark and another 14 in the amusement park.

The centrepiece of the amusement park is a 50 metre tower on which high adrenalin free fall drop rides will be located - reminiscent of Dreamworld's Tower of Terror and Giant Drop rides.

This drop tower, manufactured by German amusement rides specialists Huss, will have a central structure with carriages from which riders will be dropped from specific heights. While falling, riders will initially experience a free fall followed by heavy rapid deceleration.

All the rides and aquatic facilities in the water park are designed and supplied by Polin Waterparks and Pool Systems of Turkey.

The attraction is being developed by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) which has provided land to set up the project.
