Partners back inaugural Cardinia Shire Community Fun Run
Aligned Leisure, operators of Cardinia Shire’s major aquatic and recreation facilities, have partnered with the Pakenham Racing Club to coordinate the inaugural Cardinia Shire Community Fun Run, with all entrant fees going to the Casey Cardinia Foundation.
On 8th April, participants will journey around the Pakenham racing track for a 5 kilometre walk, 5 kilometre run or 10 kilometre run.
The Cardinia Shire Community Fun Run will aim to address the specific objectives from the Cardinia Shire’s Liveability Plan and will be promoted to all ages and abilities.
The donation of entry fees to Casey Cardinia Foundation will help drive important community programs and services delivered by the Foundation and supported by local businesses.
Cardinia Leisure Manager, Simon Bryson explains “i is our quintessential purpose to enrich the lives of the communities that we work within.
“This is an exciting initiative and we are proud to partner with Pakenham Racing Club to support the Casey Cardinia Foundation who work tirelessly in the local area delivering programs and services to groups who, without the support of the Foundation, would have no way of accessing the services they require.”
The Casey Cardinia Foundation Ltd is a philanthropic Community Foundation, raising funds for local community groups throughout the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire, with funds dispersed through an annual grants program. The Foundation aims to support the social, community and physical development of the community.
Pakenham Racing Club Business Development Manager, Wade Calderwood added “as long-time supporters of the Casey Cardinia Foundation, the Racing Club is delighted to support this great initiative driven by Aligned Leisure.
“Having been successfully chosen as one of a number of community-based initiatives in the latest round of PRC Major Community Grants, we look forward to seeing a big turnout of runners and walkers of all ages at the inaugural event on April 8th”.
