New management upgrades Lake Moogerah Caravan Park
With BelgraviaPRO having taken on the management of Scenic Rim's Lake Moogerah Caravan Park, the popular holiday park is to undergo significant upgrades - with works due to be completed by late June 2021.
With the new management team having settled in and looking forward to a bustling September school holidays, Karen Golden (pictured below), General Manager - Tourism and Wellness for BelgraviaPRO, advised “the thriving rural landscape and natural attractions to the region provide opportunity to really change the visitor experience.
"We look forward to partnering with local producers and business, to create unique experiences where visitors can reconnect with nature and make memories that last a lifetime.
"Across Australia and New Zealand, BelgraviaPRO operates 18 parks where we focus on safety, guest experiences and success for our partners within the local region.
"As we continue to embed ourselves in the region, we look forward to contributing to tourism within Scenic Rim and the Lake Moogerah camping experience."
Scenic Rim Regional Council Mayor Greg Christensen said the Council was delighted to have Belgravia on board to manage one of the region's most loved camping grounds.
Mayor Christensen stated “after a competitive tender process earlier this year, the management contract was awarded to BelgraviaPRO due to their strong track record in leisure management.
"We acknowledge the Mason family who had previously managed the camping ground for many years.”
Noting that it was an exciting time for the many campers who love to stay at Lake Moogerah and enjoy camping out under the stars, Mayor Christensen added "Council has been very fortunate to receive almost $2.5 million in grants from the Queensland Government to upgrade the caravan park to a more modern standard.
"We've received a grant from the Queensland Government's COVID Works for Queensland funding to upgrade the electrical infrastructure, and then we were successful in obtaining Unite and Recover funding to upgrade the facilities and amenities.
"This will include new amenity blocks, camping kitchen as well as upgrades to the footpaths and road infrastructure.
"These changes are set to make a big difference to the campers' enjoyment during their stay, and importantly the works will help create jobs for local people.”
Explaining that the management team would work closely with the appointed contractors to ensure the minimal disruption to visitors, Golden went on to say “we know that visitors come out here to enjoy the ambience of the region, so we will be very mindful of working closely with Council and its contractors to make sure these very important works don't impact the experience."
Works on the upgrades are now underway and are expected to be completed by 30th June 2021.
The Lake Moogerah Caravan Park upgrades are a joint initiative of Scenic Rim Regional Council and the Queensland Government.
