New faces for AALARA Board

Following its recent AGM, the Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) has announced the appointment of industry executives Greg Yong and Brad Loxley to its board.

The pair replace outgoing members Megan Reid and former AALARA President Tim Newman-Morris.

Greg Yong is Executive General Manager for Village Roadshow Theme Parks while Brad Loxley is Senior Amusement Park Manager for Luna Park Sydney.

The Executive General Manager for Village Roadshow Theme Parks (for whom he also worked as Retail and Admissions Manager form 2003 to 2011) since 2013, Greg Yong has responsibility for some of the country's largest properties including Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast and Australia's first Top Golf.

Yong has experience in leading large teams (up to 5,000 staff) in diverse locations and across disparate portfolios including operations, maintenance, technical services, security, safety, entertainment, aquatics, admission, aviation, marine sciences, retail, F&B and emergency response/crisis incident management.

He holds an MBA and qualifications in accounting.

A dynamic and passionate professional with 20 years experience within the theme parks, attractions and hospitality industry, Brad Loxley has had a long association with IAAPA, including chairing international committees and presenting industry sessions.

Loxley's experience combined with his Bachelor's Degree in Design and Business and Training qualifications make him a versatile, inspirational and creative manager who is renowned for strategic thinking outside the square, a hands-on approach, and a 'can do' attitude.

Loxley's skill lies in integrating the artistic, operational and commercial aspects of an entertainment experience to create a memorable, unique, efficient and successful business operation. His vision and passionate leadership style inspires and motivates others to achieve excellence in presentation, operations, safety and service delivery.
