Mt Buller opens extra chairlifts and terrain
Mt Buller is expanding its winter sport offerings with the opening of its Summit and Skyline runs and chairlift for the weekend.
Opened as of this afternoon, the addition of more intermediate terrain followed top up snowfalls on Tuesday and several nights of snowmaking this week.
Cold, clear nights under a glowing full moon have seen the snowguns blazing to bolster the cover on Skyline and Baldy, making more intermediate terrain ready for guests.
Following a bumper 35cm snowy start on the King’s Birthday weekend the Mt Buller mountain operations team has been working around the clock and the results are paying off with additional runs adding to the open ski area.
Buller Ski Lifts General Manager, Noel Landry commented "it’s a great feeling to be heading to the top of the mountain and accessing some of favourite runs for 2025 for this weekend.
“The mountain operations team have been working with the weather and building the cover across the upper mountain and we’re all looking forward to taking in those views and better access to lunch at Koflers Hutte.”
Koflers T-bar was slated to roll as of this morning and the Mt Buller Parks crew have built the Glider’s Park, with its own carpet, on the northside in readiness for a Saturday session.
Landry went on to say “family run is a great one to have into the mix for Saturday and it’s a credit to our mountain operations team to have these extra kilometres of trail for our guests this early. I think it’s one of the best views on the mountain and with Howqua Chair rolling I’m looking forward to stopping into Koflers for a coffee and an apricot mogul.”
