Mt Buller opens additional lifts for the weekend

Following snow flurries over recent days and with new falls overnight, Mt Buller is opening two more lifts giving terrain access for skiers and snowboarders for the weekend.

The popular Skyline T-bar will roll for the first time tomorrow morning along with the ABOM Express lifting guests higher in the ski area for longer laps down Baldy and Skyline runs.

The additional two lifts will bring operations to six lifts in resort including the Gliders carpet, Bourke Street carpet for beginners, Bourke Street Express and the Northside sightseeing chairlift.

The mountain operations team has been putting in long hours making snow and grooming out cover to expand the area available for early season skiing and boarding. The Glider’s Terrain Park at Northside is set to grow for the weekend with two more features adding to the experience in the fun freestyle zone.

With clearing blue skies and crisp cold conditions, Buller Mountain Manager, Nick Reeves today advised “we’ve been making the most of the crisp and clear conditions to make snow whenever we can and the all-weather snow factories continue to support our commitment to progressively open more of the ski area.

“The flurries today have really lifted everyone’s spirits and we’re keeping an eye on the forecast next week when some snowfall looks promising.”

In addition, Mt Buller’s toboggan park in the village is offering great sliding thanks to snow cover in the popular family fun park and there is extensive snow for snowplay and photo opportunities at the top of the Northside Express sightseeing chairlift.

Mt Buller and Mt Stirling resort spokesperson, Rhylla Morgan added “the forecast is for sunny skies and perfect crisp conditions again this weekend so guests are going to love laps in the sunshine, après dining and drinks around the resort and taking in the incredible views.

“This is the ideal combination for beginners with cover on a few of our gentle green and blue runs, great visibility and glorious clear days to take in the mountain views from the chairlift.”
