Inaugural Queensland Fitness Conference announced for Brisbane
Brisbane is set to offer new education and training opportunities for fitness professionals this October with the inaugural Queensland Fitness Conference (QFIT) set to link with the return of the Brisbane Fitness and Health Expo.
The QFIT Conference will be the first of its kind in Queensland and will provide the opportunity for attending fitness professionals to collect 12 Fitness Australia Continuing Education Credits (CEC) and/or 3 Physical Activity Australia Professional Development Points (PDP).
The Conference and the Brisbane Fitness and Health Expo will be staged over Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October 2012 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Conference will feature two full days of presentations by high-profile industry experts from around Australia which will offer attendees the chance to sharpen commercial skills required to run a successful fitness business, gain insight into new training techniques and latest industry trends as well as network with industry leaders.
QFIT will also provide fitness professionals with the unique opportunity to come together to discuss front-line issues and opportunities facing their industry.
High-profile presenters for the conference include Professor Paul Taylor, Dr Bill Sukula and Matt O'Neill.
Professor Paul Taylor is an Exercise Physiologist, Nutritionist, Neuroscientist and Research Professor at The University of San Francisco. He is the Director of The Body-Brain Performance Institute, where he delivers Executive Performance and Leadership workshops to large multi-nationals and in late 2010, opened Australias first Body-Brain Fitness Gym, Acumotum.
Dr Bill Sukula is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with over two decades experience in both clinical and preventive health care settings. He is a popular international presenter and was recently named the 2011 Australian Fitness Network Author of the Year. Bill holds a PhD in Exercise and Sports Science with a research focus in the areas of morbid obesity and type II diabetes.
Matt O'Neill is one of Australia's top Nutritionists, a regular on Channel 7's Sunrise and Morning Show Programs and the Creator of MetabolicJumpstart.com. He is also the Weight Loss Coach for Men's Health Magazine (Australia) and his trusted advice has helped millions of people enhance their diet, wellbeing and body shape.
Conference organiser Jason Greenhalgh, who also owns the Brisbane Fitness and Health Expo, is Queensland President of the Australian Marketing Institute and Managing Director of the Brisbane-based sports marketing consultancy, Major League Corporate Marketing.
Greenhalgh believes QFIT is an event not to be missed by any fitness professional eager to keep their industry knowledge up-to-date and to seize opportunities to engage with their industry partners and peers.
Greenhalgh states "QFIT will be a one-stop-shop for fitness professionals looking to equip themselves with the tools to get ahead in what is a very competitive industry.
"The Conference will provide them with the opportunity to boost their Continuing Education Credits (through Fitness Australia) or Professional Development Points (through Physical Activity Australia) as well as learn from experienced and insightful industry experts, network with like-minded industry partners and keep an eye on their competitors.
"Fitness conferences of this nature are also rare in Australia and so we strongly encourage all fitness professionals to embrace this opportunity to become more engaged in what is a close-knit but also fast developing fitness industry in Queensland."
The Brisbane Fitness and Health Expo is returning in 2012 following the greatly successful inaugural Expo in 2011 which drew a crowd of 4,000 consumers and featured more than 100 booths filled by a wide range of prominent exhibitors.
Discounted early-bird tickets for the conference will be on offer until 31st August 2012.
