Australian fitness expos to boom

In response to Australia's obsession with fitness and healthy lifestyles, Diversified Exhibitions Australia, organisers of the Australian Fitness & Health Expo has announced that it will triple its fitness portfolio in 2013-2014.

Now the largest fitness show of its kind in the southern hemisphere, the Australian Fitness & Health Expo will be relocated to Melbourne in 2014 due to the redevelopment of the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The last Expo held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre will be held from 19th to 21st April next year before its move to Melbourne. However, the 12,000 consumers and 15,000 trade visitors from NSW won't be left without a show.

A new annual event called The Fitness Show will be held in Sydney in October 2014, providing Sydney visitors with a fun day out and the opportunity to meet inspiring fitness celebrities and experience all the latest products and trends in fitness and health that they have come to see over the years.

The Fitness Show has also been developed to meet the needs of consumers and fitness professionals in Perth and will be launched in WA in October 2013.

This new annual fitness event is expected to attract 10,000 fitness professionals and enthusiasts and will be co-located with the Wellness and Fitness Industry Conference (WAFIC) run by Australian Fitness network.

Diversified Exhibitions Director Jon Perry said that Perth has been on the radar for some time and they were happy to finally be able to deliver this product to the market in Western Australia.

Perry explained "the interest level in fitness is also very high in Perth the climate and the current economy there lend themselves to lifestyle activities and we're very excited about bringing our much loved fitness show model to the eager community there.

"There will still only be one primary annual event for the Australian Fitness industry, the Australian Fitness & Health Expo. The Fitness Show has been developed to meet the needs of consumers and fitness professionals in the city specific markets of Sydney and Perth."
