Fitness Network to run WA's WAFIC Conference
The Australian Fitness Network is to take over the management and marketing of Western Australia's 2013 Wellness and Fitness Industry Conference (WAFIC) from founding organisers YMCA Perth.
The decision will see the Australian Fitness Network (AFN) oversee the two largest national fitness conferences in Australia - the well-established national FILEX Conference which takes place in Sydney in April and future WAFIC conferences, the next of which will take place during October 2013 at the Perth Convention Centre.
YMCA Perth Chief Executive Ross Kyrwood believes that the organisation's decision will boost the success of the annual event, particularly because the conference will complement the company's existing NSW-based FILEX conference.
Kyrwood explains "AFN is extremely well respected in the eastern states, with a proven track record in the fitness industry, largely due to the successful delivery of the annual conference which has evolved into a well-established event for fitness professionals.
"We are genuinely delighted that the company is taking over the operational control of future WAFIC conferences in Perth. We know that this is going to be a great result for participants, guests and the fitness industry in general."
While YMCA Perth will hand over ownership of the marketing and organisation of the event, it will remain a partner for the 2013 and 2014 events and will work collaboratively with AFN to ensure the conference builds on the success and achievements of the last four years.
AFN will shortly be releasing dates and details of the 2013 conference.
The last WAFIC was held in February 2012.
