HealthySwim Australia recognises inclusion with new board appointment

HealthySwim Australia has advised of the addition of further expertise to its board with the appointment of Mel Rickwood.

Announcing the appointment, HealthySwim Australia Chair, Ross Gage, stated "Mel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience around the vital matters of diversity and inclusion."

Acceptance the offer to contribute to HealthySwim’s work, Rickwood commented "I am very pleased to be on the HSA Board of Advisors as the inclusion specialist. Healthy water is paramount to a successful swim school and crucial to our clients whose health may be compromised.

“When dealing with a broad range of swimmers including those with additional needs, the elderly and those who use pools for rehabilitation after surgery or illness, HealthySwim Australia provides the pool operator with confidence that the water quality and sanitation is beyond question."

As with other HealthySwim Board Members - Laurie Lawrence, Associate Professor Simon Reid, Cath Bellchambers and Jay Clarke - Rickwood is volunteering her services.
