Gold’s Gym Kippa-Ring incorporates inclusive weightlifting sessions

Gold’s Gym Kippa-Ring, located within the Kippa-Ring shopping centre in South East Queensland, has incorporated competition-grade powerlifting equipment and specialised weightlifting sessions for people of all abilities.

The classes will provide knowledge and support on training fundamentals, technique and movement efficiency to cater for all fitness levels.

As weightlifting is named as one of the health and fitness trends expected to shape the industry in 2023, Gold’s Gym Australia Chief Operating Officer Glen Farrow said the new zone, aptly named Gold’s Power, ensures members have the resources they need to achieve their fitness goals.

Farrow advised “we are always looking to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to fitness trends and cater to our members' evolving needs.

“By providing a dedicated space for weightlifting, we’re giving our members the opportunity to engage in this popular form of exercise in a safe and controlled environment.”

A Gold’s Power membership will include daily Power Hour coaching sessions that are tailored to the members’ unique competency level as well as a Ladies That Lift class.

Farrow added “whether you're a seasoned lifter or just starting out, these classes will provide a supportive and empowering environment for you to thrive in.

“We recognise the importance of creating inclusive spaces for women to lift weights with other women, fostering a sense of empowerment and confidence.

“The sessions will cover how to train with free weights, how to squat, bench and deadlift as well as teach the benefits of pre-exercise mobility, understanding compound movements and more.”

To celebrate the grand opening of Gold's Power, Gold’s Gym Kippa-Ring are hosting an event on Monday 24th April from 3pm - 7pm in conjunction with International Weightlifting Day.

Open to the public, the event will contain a powerlifting competition with prizes, free cryotherapy and chiropractic treatments, $1 coffee, $3 smoothes and $5 burgers at the Raw Energy cafe, and pop-up stalls. Members can bring their friends in to train free from 7am - 7pm.
