Queensland’s first Gold’s Gym launches in Toowoomba

Queensland’s first Gold’s Gym has officially opened at the former Aldi supermarket site at 13 Princess Street in Toowoomba.

Gold’s Gym Toowoomba is owned and operated by Joe Sorbara and Bevin Jones, the pair also own the Fyshwick Gold’s Gym franchise in the ACT.

Thrilled to finally open the spacious fitness club with the latest equipment and classes along with an inhouse Raw Energy café and children’s play area, Sobara advised “we are really excited that this day has finally arrived, the gym looks fantastic and we’ve had a lot of interest from local residents who are keen to be a part of such an iconic and respected brand like Gold’s Gym.

“Enquiry has been strong and our stage one memberships have sold very quickly but locals can still purchase our stage two memberships which commence at just $14.50 per week which represents an annual saving of $300.

“Members enjoy over 1,400 metre² of floor space which is home to a great range of squat racks, free weights and pin loaded machines by Technogym and Gym80 who are recognised globally as pioneers and leaders in the industry.

“We also have huge functional fitness areas and designer studios to host over 35 group Les Mills, Yoga, Pilates and HIIT classes. There’s also a kid’s club and a retail space where members and guests can grab a coffee or a smoothie as well as our iconic Gold’s Gym merchandise, supplements and recovery equipment.

“A key for us is to create a community where members feel comfortable working out under the motto ‘Toowoomba, stronger than you know.”

Pleased to have such a prominent location in Toowoomba which is close to a major shopping centre, a prominent school and thousands of local resident, Gold Gym Australia Chief Operating Officer, Glen Farrow commented “this is the first Gold’s Gym to open in Queensland and we are really excited to introduce the local community to the training environment since the Gym’s brand was first launched in the USA back in 1965.

“Working out is more than just a physical journey and at Gold’s Gym we are all about seeing people thrive and become better versions of themselves regardless of where they are in their health and fitness journey.

“We create a culture centered around encouragement and growth and our highly trained staff really take the time to get to know our members in order to understand their health and wellbeing goals.”

Golds Gym’s current Australian locations include, North Sydney and Miranda in NSW; Fyshwick in the ACT and  Fremantle, Kennedy Park, Mandurah, Port Kennedy and Rockingham in Western Australia.

Farrow added “we are also opening our second Queensland gym at Kippa-Ring which is just north of Brisbane later this month and we are exploring new locations within Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.”
