Gold’s Gym Kippa-Ring celebrates first year of lifting the bar to support community

Gold’s Gym Kippa-Ring, located within the Kippa-Ring shopping centre in South East Queensland, has celebrated their first birthday and a year of helping build a strong, healthy, and safe community, inside and outside of the gym.

General Manager Aubrey Sutherland said throughout the year the gym sponsored local events, raised money for charity, partnered with schools and supported local sporting groups.

Sutherland shared “to help our community thrive, we decided to get involved where we could and offer our abilities and knowledge to help others.

“One thing we’re particularly proud of is our partnership with Redcliffe High School’s Year 12 students completing their Certificate III in Fitness.

“We added a practical side to their studies by getting them on the gym floor with our expert coaches.

“This way they could learn skills and gain experience that is not available in a traditional learning environment.”

The teenagers don’t just observe, they take part in plyometrics, biomechanics and functional fitness sessions as well as yoga and spin classes.

Sutherland added “knowing how to heal, prevent and strengthen muscle groups is crucial for ongoing health and so we help them to understand their pain points, how to feel better through strengthening and recovery, and the importance of the healing process.

“Our goal at Gold's Gym is to use what we know to help others, whether that’s school students, new mums, senior community members or those starting their fitness journey for the very first time.

Throughout their first year in business Gold’s Gym Kippa-Ring also supported the Redcliffe Tigers AFC, Redcliffe Peninsula Christmas Carols and the Redcliffe Markets as well as hosting multiple events within the gym.

“We’ve already started planning our involvement in the 2023 Pridefest, Moreton Bay Food & Wine Festival and the Moreton Bay Business & Innovation Awards,” Sutherland said.
