Giant inflatable waterpark opens for second summer in Perth

Perth inflatable waterpark Splash City has opened for its second summer of operations at Belmont Park Racecourse.

The pop-up attraction, which features the world’s tallest inflatable slide, is likely to have a popular summer season as temperatures start to rise in Western Australia.

Formerly known as Xscape at the City it includes inflatable waterslides, children’s play pools, trampolines and an inflatable maze.

Amid uncertainty over the future of The Great Escape attaction at Hillarys Boat Harbour, Splash City Director Nasir David stated “with the Great Escape closing down, there will be fewer options for families this summer.

“That’s certainly going to have a positive impact on our patronage.”

Town of Victoria Park Chief Executive Anthony Vuleta believes that the waterpark is a sign that the area, which includes the new Perth Stadium, was becoming the entertainment capital of Western Australia, telling local media “Splash City is a great fit to the mix of attractions and things to do in the Burswood Peninsula and Swan River Foreshore entertainment precinct.

“It is in great company and complements the activities at Perth Racing, Crown and McCallum Park.”

At its opening Splash City has alsom welcomed the crew of American made TV show Extreme Waterparks.

The opening was also attended by Royal Life Saving Society WA mascot Quackers the duck as part of Royal Life Saving Day activities.
